These are the rules for Shattered Glass. Please read them all; you will not be able to post on the forums used for role-play if you do not.
GENERAL:
- RESPECT is one thing that you must have here. Respect your fellow role-players, admin, and moderators. If you are disrespectful towards anyone, you will get a warning. After three warnings, you will be banned.
- RP ETIQUETTE is also a must! If there are three or more people involved in a RP thread, it is proper etiquette to wait for everyone to reply once before posting again. In the instance that the person you are waiting on has not posted away or busy but also has not posted in one week, you may continue with the posting without them.
- SWEARING should be kept to a bare minimum. Only use it if your character is very upset about something; and even then, please, no dropping the “f bomb”.
- ALL LEVELS of role-players are allowed to join here. Please be respectful to those who are just starting out; we were all new at this once, too.
- NO ADULT CONTENT is to be posted/advertised on this site. Ever. Doing so will result in immediate banning of both your username and IP.
ALL HORSES:
- ALL horses that join must have some sort of problem caused by something in their past. Please be as creative as possible when thinking up what it could be, and the reason why. =)
- Horses may only be a cross between two different horse breeds IF it is approved by admin, and may not be draft breeds unless approved by admin. If you would like to join a character with one of these traits, please PM Glory Be, tipsy, or Explosive.
- Please make sure that your character is in the correct height range for what breed they are. Explosive has posted a list of horse breeds we will accept on this site and the regular height a horse of that breed has; if you are unsure of what height is acceptable, please check that list.
STALLIONS:
-When claiming a territory, you are encouraged to write a post for it, but it is not necessary.
-Stallions may only claim a maximum of three mares a week from the Mares’ Reverie. This is to let others have a chance, and to encourage drawn-out conversations between mare and stallion rather than quick, round-‘em-up claims.
-Stallions may NOT challenge Seraphim for her mares or land, and they may not steal mares from her, either.
MARES:
-Mares post in one of three places when they join: The Mares’ Reverie (if you wish to join a herd with a stallion), the Inner Sanctum (if you wish not to be claimed, but don’t wish to join the Intervention Operation), or the Sanctuary of Angels (home to Seraphim and the Intervention Operation).
-Mares who join the Intervention Operation that believe they have healed enough during their time spent there may request Seraphim to allow them to go to the Mares’ Reverie to join a stallion’s herd. If she deems them fit to leave, she will let them.
FOALS:
-Foals living in any territory except for Paradoxal Ravine will reach one year of age two months after they were initially born.
-Foals living in Paradoxal Ravine will reach one year of age within one month of being born.
-Foals must stay with their mothers until they are at least one year of age. This is when colts must be kicked out of the herd. However, fillies may choose to stay with their mothers until two years of age, at which time they, too, must be kicked out of their herd.
FIGHTING:
- When role-playing a fight, please remember: NO godmoding/powerplaying, ex. “Spanky threw Bucky down on the ground and a boulder fell out of the sky and crushed him.” No. When role-playing a fight scene, you must make all attacks open-ended, giving the other person a chance to make their character somewhat lessen the blow. However, you also cannot say “Bucky dodged out of the way of the hit with lightning-fast speed. There was no way Spanky could touch him.” If someone’s character launches an attack on yours, you must act accordingly. Try to make any and all fights as accurate and realistic as possible.
- For all challenges (not spars), a dice roll will decide the outcome.
- After every fight, the winner gains 2 battle points. Loser gains 1. At 25 points, your character gains 1 defense point. At 60, they gain another. Password is fallen. At 100, they gain yet another. However, the maximum bonus attack/defense points they can have is 3, so that is where we will stop giving them, as even 1 extra point can affect the battle’s outcome.
- Same goes for spars: Winner gains 2 battle points, loser gains 1.
- Once a mare reaches 100 battle points, she may start a herd of her own, reminiscent of Seraphim’s, although she may be challenged for her herd members/land and stolen from. She will have all the rights of a stallion at that point, although she may choose to simply remain in a stallion’s herd rather than making her own.
- Once a stallion reaches 100 battle points, his player will be allowed to design a custom territory for him to live in.
- Domuico may not be challenged for his land. However, he may be challenged for any mares he may have, and he can also be stolen from. He will start out with no extra defense boosts, just like all the other characters start out when they first join.
STEALING:
- You may only post two steals a week.
- You may have hints rather than simply stating your steal, but hints must allude to the following: Mare’s NAME, Stallion’s NAME, and Stallion’s TERRITORY NAME. No saying “dark-haired girl” because the mare’s coloring is brown or whatever.
- You may block THREE mares maximum, but you must explain WHY you’re blocking each mare.
-If the person you're stealing a mare from does not guess the correct mare within THREE DAYS of you posting the steal, then you must post the answers to your clues after three days has passed [no more than three; please try to be exact with this]. An admin will evaluate your clues to make sure they are solvable.
